Artist bio

Art at the Arnold competition 2011.
Welcome to my gallery of art. I hope you enjoy the work as much as I enjoyed creating it. This style of painting is done entirely with a 59 cent palette knife and acrylic paint, right out of the tube. I like intense color and the spontaneous energy that can be achieved with the knife. I'm told by my other artist friends that this style is unique. That compels me to continue my artistic journey. I've also created a unique body of work using the many available colors and patterns of Duck tape. Check it out.
My found metal work is done entirely without welding. I love to find creative ways to connect all the parts. It's like building a puzzle with pieces that don't always go together. And lastly, the mosaic. This is a new venture for me in hopes of creating many more installations. I love to work big, and it's exciting to see what happens when sunlight hits all the colored plexi-glas mirrored surfaces. I'll continue to add samples as I create them so please come back to see my latest work. -John Catania
